New guides section!

Main Street USA during Extra Magic Time at Disneyland Paris

When DLP Town Square was created just over four years ago, it was a place to put down all my thoughts on Disneyland Paris into one place. This has grown into a successful website that is used daily by many people to find out more about the history of Disneyland Paris, get opinions on new features and upcoming events as well as a resource for their own visits. Now, I am pleased to launch a guide section of the website which will only grow over time. Have no fear, this is not the end of in-depth articles, this is just something new and exciting that compliments what is already here.

As this section grows, as will the homepage and menu bars to allow easier access to all this new content! Why not check out some of the DLP Town Square guides today?

DLP Town Square is one year old today!

Light'Ears during the Brave scene of Disney Dreams!

Well, here we are; One year to the day since I first launched this website at www.dlptownsquare.com – and what a year it has been. First of all – Thanks to you, this website has far surpassed my expectations; I hope you like what I have written and will enjoy what is to come in the future.

So, lets quickly talk about the future. What is to come? Quite simply: More. I’m working away on a few research pieces and of course when news breaks I’ll cover it with a bit of my opinion thrown in for good measure. I’ll certainly be back in the parks and some point – where I’ll continue live-tweeting and I have some back-dated content which I will upload at some point.

But today, I’d like to link you to my favourite articles I have written over the year. So, sit back and enjoy – here’s to another year.

Le Tour de France visits Disneyland Paris – Enjoy a retrospective look at the two  years that France’s biggest bicycle race came to Europe’s number 1 tourist destination.

Gare de Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy – Discover the history and design of the gateway to Disneyland Paris

Marketing Blast-Off – Space Mountain: De la Terre à la Lune was make-or-break territory for Disneyland Paris. And so the largest advertising period ever commenced. We took a look back at it.

Halloween Rewind – Since 1997 Disneyland Paris has run a Halloween season in the resort becoming a guest season. This article is a year-by-year account of the changes in the celebration.

Light’Ears success or failure – In 2013 Light’Ears launched in Disneyland Paris. I went over and tried them out. But were they a success or failure, and what are the reasons behind this?

Coup de Coeur – Tower of Terror – You are the passengers in the most uncommon elevator. Take a look at the beauty behind this attraction.

Coup de Coeur – Le Chateau de la Belle au Bois Dormant – Take a look inside Disneyland Park’s icon featuring an extensive range of images.

Believeing in the power of a wish – Last Christmas Magical Christmas Wishes premièred at Disneyland Paris. I loved it and wrote this article based on it, including video of the show itself.

Ratatouille Review – I got invited to Disneyland Paris as a blogger, here are my thoughts on the new ride [SPOILER WARNING]

The Making of Ratatouille – At the same event we got a talk from two imagineers as to how Ratatouille was created – the results were quite fascinating.

Bistrot Chez Rémy Review – Check out the fine dining that is Bistrot Chez Rémy, a restaurant that the studios needed and now has.

La Place de Remy Look – The centre-piece of the new attraction is this beautiful land. Take a look around.

Welcome to the new look DLP Town Square!

Town Square in Disneyland Park

Hello and Welcome to the new look DLP Town Square.

This redesign has been about six months in the making. About 2 weeks after launching the site, I went into a period of redesign – I wanted something looking nice and clean. Six months and three drafts later, here we are – and I really do hope you like it! The majority of articles made the jump across, some got deleted due to poor quality, all got reformatted, checked over and improved.

I really didn’t like taking the site down for most of the week, but the decision was made due to the huge leap in platform that the time was needed to iron out all problems.

So, have a look around, explore and let me know what you think. Some pages aren’t quite finished, some will always be a work in progress.

Thanks for your patience.

Geoff
